Museums of Burlington’s commitment is to serve, lead and build a culturally rich community. With the mission to engage audiences through the sharing of history and culture and the vision to inspire connections, Museums of Burlington seek to share history and heritage, push boundaries through diverse perspectives, and connect and serve the interests of the community.
Joseph Brant Museum combines the replica Brant house with state-of-the-art exhibition and programming space. Featuring three new galleries and space for traveling exhibitions, the Museum showcases Burlington’s history by sharing interesting and provocative perspectives about the past, present, and future.
In partnership with the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, the Art Gallery of Burlington and Discovery Landing, Joseph Brant Museum enhances Burlington’s waterfront as a destination for local families and tourists.
A historical house and property, the original homestead of the Ireland family shares a piece of Burlington’s history and engages visitors with a rich first-hand authentic experience with one of Burlington’s founding families. With guided tours and interpreters in period costumes, visitors step back in time to understand the life of early settlers.
The Museum actively engages the community with a 130+ person volunteer base and provides students internships and co-op placements.
